This second visit is probably the most important visit because the doctor will give you a report of his findings to answer the three most important questions:
- Can you help me?
- What do you recommend that I do to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
After discussing with you his examination finding and reviewing any x-rays or test results, Dr. Homonai will discuss their recommended treatment plan to help you achieve your goals. If you have a condition that requires co-management of care with other providers, the doctor will explain this to you. The doctor will often explain what care may be necessary to help you achieve short-term goals like reducing pain and long-term goals like a wellness program to ensure that you stay healthy.
The first treatment usually occurs on the second appointment immediately after the report of findings. The initial treatment is usually performed on the second visit for several reasons - it allows the doctor time to review all of the information from your examination, review any x-rays that may have been taken, request records or imaging studies from other physicians or hospitals you may have visited, and look over your new patient forms in greater detail. The doctors will occasionally provide some type of emergency treatment for symptomatic relief on an initial visit, when needed. Evaluation of a chiropractic problem is a complicated process when done properly, which is why Fay-West Chiropractic is often able to successfully treat conditions that have not been helped by other providers.
Your first treatment will include specific spinal adjustments using an Impulse IQ adjusting instrument, and may likely also include physiotherapies, and/or soft tissue therapies. These treatments will be explained in great details so that you understand each individual therapy and how it is designed to help you feel better and improve your condition.
As part of the Fay-West Chiropractic philosophy, we believe strongly in the treatment of the patient as a whole and not just a focus on one particular injury or symptom. During the first few visits to the office, each patients will be instructed on the benefits of a wellness program. We have found that patients who become actively involved in achieving better health are much more successful. The doctor will share with you specific stretches and exercises, any necessary nutritional supplementation, and the benefits of regular chiropractic care, even in the absence of pain or symptoms, as part of a wellness-driven lifestyle.
